Spoons and Forks Turned Into Amazing Sculptures

Matt Wilson an artist based in South Carolina makes sculptures of birds, owls and other animals using discarded silverware and recycled materials. His lifelike sculptures are constructed from scrap metal and other found objects that are mounted on driftwood, ready to hang on wall.

His sculptures "depict continuous life cycles that consciously and unconsciously permeate our awareness. The upcycled work I create is a testimony to the belief of conserving and appreciating our resources, so that the environment in which we live will continue to be an environment in which we desire to live." You can view more of his work on Instagram.

Papercut Artwork by Pippa Dyrlaga

Pippa Dyrlaga is a paper artist based in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire who uses traditional paper cutting techniques to create contemporary artwork. She gained degree in Contemporary Art Practice and MA in Art and Design and Curation from Leeds Metropolitan University. Her work is mainly inspired by nature, animals, architecture and the surroundings while she was growing up.

Her papercut artwork is generally cut from a single sheet of paper and has thousands of cuts that form wings of owls or scales on snakes. She uses only scalpel to make every little intricate detail that brings lightness and delicacy to her work. She has worked with Yorkshire Tea, Element Jewellery, York University, Market Taverns, and Heart Gallery for the Watermark Fund. You can find prints as well as originals on her website. Welcome 2018 + New Zealand's Flox

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a wonderful festive season. I would like to start the brand new year with the colorful work by an aerosol and stencil artist Hayley King who goes by the name of Flox. She graduated with a fine arts degree from Unitec in Auckland and later started her own business where she could make a career out of what she was passionate about. She creates murals with intricately hand-cut stencils and spray paints, often featuring birds and owls. Each pieces is a result of hours of patiently spray painting layer over layer of flora and fauna.

She has expanded her work into other fields such as prints, graphic design, live painting, projects and workshops. Her vibrant work has turned her into most recognized contemporary artists in New Zealand. Her work has sparked new life into otherwise dull walls in New York, LA, Taiwan, Hong Kong and India. You can find out where will she paint next and about her upcoming exhibitions by following her on Facebook.
