DIY: Iron-On Transfers

I adore these Tutu Cute Snowy Owl and Robot iron-on transfers created by Ez of Creatures Comforts. She used the transfers on the tees and onesies as Christmas gifts but these can also be used on tote bags, aprons, tea towels and cushions covers (and more). For instructions and to download the templates click here.

Printable Owl Paper Toy

This is freaking so cute! You can create this literally in less than 10 minutes. Only cut and fold! You can download the template for Amie Miller's owl paper toy here.

I'll be back shortly with another fun freebie and a holiday special post for you today.

Anna Wili Highfield

Anna Wili Highfield makes breath-taking sculptures of animals from paper and copper wire. Little bit about the process in the artist's words :"The paper sculptures are created from archival cotton paper, that is painted, then sewn together, to create the figure of an animal. The copper pipe is bent and manipulated to create sculptural forms reminiscent of line drawings." Watch the video to know what inspired her to make these amazing sculptors.

We Are Owls

We Are Owls caught my eye with their gorgeous collection of cashmere scarves. Do you have a scarf on your wish-list this year? If you do then look no more. Some of their scarves designs are dark featuring owl carrying skull and skeleton but I bet they'll look stunning when wrapped elegantly. Like the nocturnal owl, the founders would stay awake all night long working hence gave the name We Are Owls to their collection.

Claire Coles Design

My new obsession is Claire Coles unique wallpapers. The artists stitches vintage wallpapers together forming birds, flowers, tea cups furniture and owls in collage style designs using an embroidery machine. She has designed wallpapers for Ted Baker and textile designs for Anthropology.

Her fun owl, deer and bunny designs are perfect to decorate kid's room and delicate Midnight Garden, Paris themed wallpapers are sophisticated to appeal to adults.

Tate: Mark Hearld

Mark Hearld designs exclusively for Tate. The range of products include tote bags, cushions, notebooks, ceramics and limited edition prints. I love the bold folk-inspired designs in his work and his evident fascination with animals and birds of Britain.

DIY: Owl Brooch

Thanks Arrielle for sending me the link to the owl brooch tutorial by Tammy. The instructions are simple and easy, I guess anyone can do it (including me). With different colors of fabric you can create handmade holiday stocking stuffer, Christmas ornaments or a fun project to work on with kids. Go to Tammy's blog for template or bookmark this one for later!

Oliver Hunter

I love the fairytale feel and colorful lines in Oliver Hunter's illustrations. To see more of his work stop by his Flickr gallery.

Bead Embroidery: Janet Dann

I discovered these bead embroidered bags by Janet Dann on Robin's blog. Janet is a self-taught artist who crafts these gorgeous bags using suede fabric and weave the straps using Kumihimo a Japanese method of braiding thread/ribbon strands. She made the owl purse for her mom which shows the excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail.
