Olaf Hajek

Olaf Hajek is the world renowned German illustrator, painter, artist, graphic designer, and author. Hajek's work is inspired by folk culture, mythology, religion, history, and geography. His paintings are detailed, colorful, wild and is a visual delight. I hope you enjoy his work as well.

DIY: Woodland Felt Ornaments

Hand-make ornaments this Christmas with this wonderful tutorial by Amy of 'While Wearing Heels'. These woodland inspired ornaments don't need sewing skills, just a few easy stitches to make eyes and snowflakes, and rest is a cake walk! There is printable pdf template for owl, fox, raccoon, pig, deer, monkey and hedgehog. Simply grab some felt, a pair of scissors, glue and string to get started. These are so simple to make that you can hand-make each of your family member their favorite animal.

Christmas Owl Cake

Mel is a talented cake maker and decorator from Queensferry, United Kingdom. She is the master mind behind all the amazing cakes that you see on Mel's Amazing Cakes. Just recently while browsing through Christmas cakes online, I stumbled across an "Owl Family X-mas Cake" that was made by her. I am in LOVE with this cake! How cute are those owls? The mama, the papa and three owlies. The color palette of snow white, ice blue, cherry red goes perfectly with the holiday theme. The detailed work on the feathers is absolutely brilliant! You can make simple Christmas ornaments on your own with this great tutorial by Lia Griffith. The tutorial is to make owls with three different personalities and it comes with a pattern to print. You need a few simple things to make these little guys and once finished, you can place them along with the centerpiece on the dining table, mantle or hang them on Christmas tree by adding a string.
