Designer Scarves by Emily Carter

British designer Emily Carter recently graduated from London College of Fashion where she studied BA Fashion Textiles. After graduating she started her brand that specializes in luxury illustrated silk scarves and pocket squares. Her designs are inspired by flora and fauna depicted in bright colors and bold illustrations.

"I grew up in the countryside, and as a child I was always in the garden looking for bugs and creatures and watching David Attenborough. It’s such a huge source for aesthetic inspiration; the colours, prints, textures and creatures have always been a key source of creativity for my design work."

She has participated in number of shows and exhibitions, and her work has been featured in many magazines like Hello, Pigeons & Peacocks, Wolf & Badger and Pocketful to name a few. The limited edition scarves are available on her website.

Animalesque by Sara Lowes

Animalesque is a London based costume brand founded by artist and textile designer, Sara Lowes. Sara's expertise in textile design combined with illustration techniques, traditional screen-print and embroidery results into whimsical costumes and accessories.

Inspired by "her love of narrative and theatrical environments" her pieces are hand crafted in her studio by using vintage and recycled fabrics rich in color and texture.

I am enchanted by her animal headdresses in gorgeous designs such as owl, rabbit, fox, badger, wolf and more. The headdresses come in small size for kids and large size for adults. Visit her online store for the complete range of headdresses, waistcoats and other accessories. To learn more about her and her work, you can read her wonderful interview to The Junior.
