Montreal Botanical Garden: Mosaiculture

These incredible horticulture works of art are created for the international competition in Mosaiculture in Montreal Botanical Garden, Canada where 48 Mosiacultures are on display till September 29th covering about 185 acre of the garden. Mosiacultures is a french term where bedding plants are used 'like a mosaic' to form patterns and designs. Each sculpture can weigh up to 100 tons, 50 foot tall and consist of whopping 300,000 plants! I have never seen anything of this magnitude before made with living plants. Isn't this amazing?

More information and details on visiting the garden can be found here.

Yvonne Ellen: Owl Plates

I've featured Yvonne Ellen's uncommon ceramics before here. Recently, I came across some new exciting pieces by her which are an amazing fusion of vintage plates as canvas and with modern twist to animals' illustrations that spread across on two or more plates. These are ideal for those who love to decorate walls with plates or simply use them to share a scone with a friend!
