Paperchase Halloween Cards 2017

Halloween is about scary stuff, things that we know are not real but are enjoyed being scary. People dress up as scary characters and decorate their homes to make it look like a haunted place. These cards by Paperchase is an adorable twist on Halloween scary characters. The owl with toffee candy apple, ghosts roasting marshmallows or dancing skeletons will make the recipients smile. Perfect to send to kids or someone who celebrates Halloween a non-scary way.

Surreal Animal Paintings by Jacub Gagnon

Canadian artist Jacub Gagnon graduated in 2009 with a degree in BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD). He creates whimsical animal paintings using mainly acrylics and oil on canvas. The surreal paintings of animals are amazingly realistic as well as intriguing. Animals are often depicted with odd objects and in bizarre scenery which one would never expect to witness.

“Within the stage that is my canvas, I present animals and objects in bizarre manners, placing them in scenes that oppose practicality. My paintings become a space in which nature becomes unnatural, bordering surreal.”

The artist's paintings can be seen in several galleries throughout the USA and Canada. The artist is currently being represented by the Thinkspace Gallery in LA. You can see more of his work on his website and join him on Facebook.

Owl and Pumpkin Fall Birthday Party

Those of us are planning a birthday party this fall, look what I have found. Mindy of Modern Mindy did a wonderful job of bringing together fall elements with the owl theme birthday party for her daughter in their backyard. She makes use of rustic elements and rich seasonal colors keeping in mind the owls and pumpkins as the main theme.

The hand-painted owl pumpkins, polka dots, stripes, wooden table and tree branches all of it brings a fresh feel and fun factor to the theme. I love the idea of butcher paper for the backdrop of the dessert table. The cake was kept to minimal, decorated with ribbons and paper flowers.

Hay bales provided with the fantastic kids-friendly seating. Pumpkin shaped popcorn balls with tootsie roll stuck in the top to make a pumpkin is another fun idea that kids will love. There are many more amazing details that you can inspire you for your next party.
