Rock Scissor Paper's Owl Shoppe

rockscissorpaper_2078_155728935

So, I go to this website - Rock, Scissor, Paper and find myself being stared by this owl. I find out that not only the owls have been given their own store, but the whole October month is an Owl special month at Rock, Scissor, Paper! They say:

"Owls! Owls! Owls! I guess you can tell we like them? We're happy that owls have made a comeback in popularity, because we've always loved them (and always will). "

Darn! and I find it at the last day of October :( But no worries, it's only the special which has come to an end, not the goodies. The owl cup, calendar, doll, notebook, mosaic owl card and all other happy things are available at their Owl Shoppe. Who Gives A Hoot About The Recession card from their "Retro Recession Cards" is a cute reminder to make sure that we have got our humour intact in these rough economic times.

Iittala's Magic - Taika

Taika - Iittala's gorgeous series, is inspired by folklore patterns. This collection includes espresso cups, saucers, plates and bowls in blue, white, ivory and red. With Christmas just around the corner, I can see myself using the red dinnerware. What do you think?

"Taika means 'magic' in Finnish, and and Designer Klaus Haapaniemi wanted his illustrations to inspire your own imagination and storytelling."

I won't deny, I am under the spell right now. Are you?

Available here.

Pop Ink: Buttons

I found some funky buttons by Pop Ink at The French Paper Company. I have to say that the orange owl is the one I like most. Which one do you like? You can get one or all as these are just a dollar each.

Owl Post + Gocco Print

Chiara is a Marine Sciences student, living in Italy. She has a profound love for paper craft, which she enjoys doing in her leisure time. She has this whole line 'Owl Post' filled with fun stationery items - Gocco printed flat note and envelope, which comes with self adhesive inkjet printed postage stamps and labels, telegram cards, cotton muslin bags and more. Many items in her store Celestefrittata are on sale at the moment, if you want to take advantage of that.

Do you know about Gocco print? I didn't. I did a little searching online and found a very informative video on it. It looks like the most simple tool with which you can create whatever you wish. I might get one. Check it out here.

Do you use anything special for your craft projects?

John Lewis

Look what I found at John Lewis! Owl print sewing basket, pin cushion, craft bag (love those handles), sewing box, cute little sewing kit and a needlebook. The owl print is very cute. I like it in red. Which one do you like?

Whitney Lee {Wedding Photography}

owl-cake

Whitney Lee's work is stunning. She holds an honors degree in photography and has 10 years of impressive wedding photography experience. Her work has been published in several national magazines.

"Wedding photography is so much deeper than simply documenting an event, It is about being aware of the thoughts and feelings of the bride and groom and their families and then capturing moments that can recall those feelings for lifetimes to come. It is about sensing the style, happiness and grace of the day and making images that not only document those qualities, but are themselves stylish, happy, and graceful."

The above shown wedding photos are of one of Whitney's client's - Julie and Todd. I couldn't stop looking at the cake. It looks yummy! Notice the detailed work on the feathers which were made out of rice paper (I wish a bite of it). It's the groom's cake. The wedding tiered cake looks amazing too. I can bet it tasted heavenly with the following ingredients - rose-water vanilla with orange and lemon curd filling (alternating tiers), American buttercream frosting and fondant outer layer. YUM!

Fifth picture is of the wedding favor. Julie, the bride, made those buttons herself and the total cost of the project was under $5o. Good job! Notice the bride's and groom's initials on it. Seventh picture is of save-the-date card, for which Julie custom made the postage stamp. Love it! Eighth picture gives a sneak peak of their album. For more you can visit Julie's blog.

Don't you love the color scheme? Would you like to incorporate an owl theme on your big day?

Garnet Hill: Night Owl Sateen Bedding

I would love to get any of these items for Christmas from Garnet Hill. It was my very first time on their web store, and I have to say it was a delight. I especially loved their seasonal collection from which I picked this gorgeous sateen bedding set and Christmas themed owl pillows. You can click on the pictures to see all the owls bearing different expressions on the sheet. The owl with the Santa's hat is the cutest of the lot.

What's on your wishlist?

Fabric, Fabric, Fabric

Owl Fabric 2

I found a lovely collection of owl fabric at Curtains for Kids. I am glad that I dug a little deeper on this website, as not only I found The owl and the pussycat print there, but I found it in two cute colors. I have realized during my searches, that it's a hard print to find, so I was delighted to find it in two varieties. Do you know of any other place where I can find The owl and the pussycat print fabric?

Other fabric prints are alphabets, forest and sleeping owl.

{Ink+Wit}

This lovely tea towel is made of 100% taught white linen. Don't need another towel? Then how about a wall hanging. Yep, you can specify at the time of checkout what do you need. I bet it'll look equally nice on the wall. Notice the mustaches on the owl.
Measures: 16X24. Available at Ink+Wit.

OK

Good Morning! I hope you had a great weekend and got some extra zzzzzs. Let's start our morning together with this coffee mug (to shake us up). Hands down, this is the cutest mug. I found it at the website of a Los Angeles based store called OK. It's made in Japan. Measure: 3" tall, 3.75" diameter.
