Rousskine: Dolls

I discovered these handmade dolls by Rousskine through Babyccino Kids.com and fell in love instantly!

Dominique Dansereau is the master mind behind Rouskkine whose passion has always been textile. Montreal based artist hand knits each doll with 100% cotton thread. I love the attention to detail and patterns in varied color schemes. Every doll has a sweet name and a little story of their own. Some of these dolls are available in her Etsy store. For updates on her new products you can follow her blog.

Her wire sculptures are both rustic and contemporary, and are influenced by nature and organic forms. She handcrafts these birds "that resemble airborne sketches" using silver and mixed metal wire, wood, stones and other organic material. To view more of her work and to get an update on her upcoming exhibitions go to her website.

3 Owls

I first saw this painting at the Brooklyn Flea Market in New York city and posted a couple of pictures on Facebook last month. I wanted to share it here for all of you who missed that post. After all, we all like reruns of things we like. Right? I still can't get it out of my mind. It's awesome!

3 Owls painting is by John Hoyman. Thanks Simone for sharing that information with us.

Happy Friday!

tea-owl

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you had a great week and are ready for a fun weekend! Do you have any plans  for the weekend? My plans for this weekend include spending as much time as possible outside. It's Spring here, so before it gets hot (and it gets really hot), I want to take long walks around downtown art exhibitions and farmers' markets. Whatever you do this weekend, have fun!
