Hilke MacIntyre: Linocut in Bold Shapes and Colors

Hilke MacIntyre was born in Germany. After studying architecture at the College for Art & Design in Kiel, she worked with various architects. In 1995, she moved to Scotland and focused exploring printing, painting and ceramics. Her work has a simplified figurative style with bold shapes, bright colors and patterns. The world around her, nature, people and animals influence her work.

Her work has been exhibited in several galleries around Britain and has been showcased multiple times for the annual show at the Royal Scottish Academy. She has worked on the illustration for the promotion of the East Neuk Music Festival, for the songbooks of the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the Heritage North website in Scotland.
