Torn Paper Animal Sculptures by Anna-Wili Highfield

Owl

Bobcat

Horse

Wrens

Red Tailed Black Cockatoos

Lynx

Wolf

Here are some more intriguing sculptures by Australian artist Anna-Wili Highfield. She creates the most beautiful birds and animals using pieces of paper that seem so real! The biodegradable paper animals are constructed with archival paper, then handpainted before they are sewn together to make an animal shape. The hand torn edges of paper give a raw yet elegant feel to the sculptures.

She has made sculptures for companies such as Hermes, the World Wildlife Fund and Anthropologie. Her work is are held in private collections around the world and have featured in numerous publications.

You can find more amazing work by her here and here that I featured earlier.
