The Big Hoot's Father Christmas Owl

Birmingham's one of the biggest Summer event The Big Hoot art project presented by Wild in Art in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital gathered thousands of people who followed the hoot trail spread across city’s 10 districts. There were about 89 fiberglass owl sculptures measuring 5ft 5in decorated by artists with mind-boggling intricate artwork. At the end of the 10 week trail the huge owls were auctioned to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Now, the Big Hoot has returned at the Great Western Arcade in Birmingham with its holiday sculpture designed by artist Jane Anderson. The Father Christmas owl  "with a sackful of presents and fluffy white beard" can be seen in person until the 25th.

'The Wild Masquerade' Designed by Florence Balducci

Parisian illustrator and designer Florence Balducci collaborated with Anthropologie to produce the whimsical tabletop range 'The Wild Masquerade'. The Wild Masquerade range features elegant black and white illustrations on variety of products fit for a Christmas or a New year party. The bold and magical illustrations of owl, rabbit, cricket, crane and flora adorn the ceramics, stationery and decorations. Sweet Snuggles by Superdrug is a range of gift items including body scrub, body lotion, body wash, hand lotion, earmuffs, hand warmers etc. The collection features sweet animal designs of owl, fox, deer, polar bear and penguin in Christmas inspired packaging. Too bad, they don't ship to the US. Still, I thought these are too cute to not share with those of us who love wonderful package design.
