Vintage Owl Suitcase

DIY: Feathery Owl Tote

This is a simple and an easy tutorial that used Sizzix Petal Flower Power die to create a unique feathery owl tote. It'll make a fun tote to carry around your craft supplies or perfect to give to your little one for a trick-or-treat night! 

Things needed for the project:

Felt and quilted fabric

Tote

Fabric glue

Scissors

Fringe scissors

Wax paper

Stuffing

Sophie Standing: Textile Embroidery Art

Sophie Standing is a textile artist born in England and currently living in Karen, Kenya. She studied wood, metal, ceramics and textiles at Liverpool Hope University, and has worked in many different mediums.

Sophie’s textile embroidered art is inspired by the beautiful African flora and fauna. Her "pieces are created by appliqueing an intricate collage of fabric onto the canvas where her image is already sketched out. She then draws the details over the top of the fabric with her sewing machine using many different colored threads." I am amazed at the attention of detail, love and patience that must have gone into creating each of these animal embroideries.
