John Dilnot: Shadow Boxes

 

Brighton based artist and printmaker John Dilnot makes these amazing shadow boxes using clipped illustrations of birds, antique maps, found objects and twigs creating intricate and intriguing worlds withing wooden boxes. Everytime I look at his work, I discover something new. It's fascinating how much detail each of his piece has. You can find his available work here.

Forest Animals Ceramic Measuring Spoons

Kat Silverstein is a ceramist and designer based in Chicago, Illinois. She always loved making practical gifts for her family with her illustrations, and when people showed interest in buying her products she started her online store 7 Doors Studio. Her store offers hand-painted cups, plates and measuring spoons with animals as a primary theme. The above shown 'Forest Animal measuring spoons' set is my favorite with lovely illustrations of an owl, fox, squirrel and hedgehog. You can find more of her designs here.

Baby Shower + Free Printables

It's been a while since I posted an owl themed baby shower. But I am glad I waited because when I came across 'Look whooo's about to pop' baby shower by JoAnne Howell Wuneburger from oh goodie designs I practically jumped out of my chair of cuteness! I mean look at those big round eyes. Don't they just melt your heart every time you look at them? I love the cookies to match with the cake and the owl pops.
