Needle-Felted Faux Taxidermy Animal Heads By Grey Fox Felting

Erin Gardner is the owner, designer, and creator behind Grey Fox Felting. Based out of New Hartford, NY, Erin has been needle felting for several years. When she gave birth to her first child she wanted to make a career that could be pursued from home. She began to make kits for those who wanted to learn the art of needle felting.

She is presently making amazing needle felted sculptures that can be mounted on the wall. The series of faux taxidermy animal heads are entirely made by hand by layering and attaching different colored felt. Each piece is carefully felted, constructed and shaped into a three dimensional form. The animal heads are mounted on painted piece of wood which gives the sculptures depth.

You can follow her work on Instagram and find her originals that are available for purchase in her online store.

Stunning Uncontained Dioramas by Artist Allison May Kiphuth

Allison May Kiphuth is an artist based in Maine. I am a long term admirer of her work and featured her dioramas on the blog earlier. She has a huge fan following of her wooden boxes that are constructed with layered watercolor illustrations inspired by her natural surroundings.

She has been working on another series, she calls it "Uncontained Dioramas", featuring landscapes and sceneries. The artist hand-cuts and hand-paints each tiny detail of her work with fine brush before layering them into a finished piece. Each piece is then sealed with Encaustic where the layers are varnished with wax making the fragile artwork durable for handling and adds a subtle texture.

You can find her available artwork on her website and follow her for latest creations on Instagram.
