Vintage by Crystal: Handspun Characters










Crystal and Ben Sloane of Vintage by Crystal are husband and wife who live in upstate New York. They create these whimsical handspun cotton characters inspired by a century old techniques used by cottage artisans who made ornaments and figurines in Victorian era Germany. Each piece is made using cotton, cotton batting, wire and has hand painted details.

These adorable creations are further decorated in clothing made with crepe paper and accessorized with new, vintage, and found materials including Dresden scraps, ribbons and trims, antique Czech glass beads and vintage paper. These one-of-a-kind pieces range from animals to people characters which will make a unique art piece for your home. Vibrant Artwork of Birds by Geninne









I shall wrap up for the weekend with the beautiful artwork by Geninne D. Zlatkis an artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her watercolor illustrations often feature birds and flowers in vibrant colors and fine detail work.
