3Dimensional Artwork by Leif Erik Johansen

Leif Erik Johansen is a painter and a paper artist based in Asheville, NC. He was only 5 years old when his parents got divorced and that's when Leif began to first draw as an escape from his troubles. He loved that how freely he could express himself through art that not necessarily can be explained through the medium of words. Instead of a degree, Leif decided to travel the world and find his own ways to self-educate himself. But it was not until he was 40 years old he dedicated himself full time to begin his career in art.

He creates three dimensional paper cut light-boxes and dioramas. He hand-draws illustrations and hand-cuts each one individually, sometimes hundreds for a diorama. Each piece comprises of layers of illustrations stacked to create a 3D artwork. The inspiration for his work comes from nature, places he has visited, art and culture from all around the world, and "strange abstract face I see in the grain of wood" artist shares in his profile.

You can visit his online store for prints and originals.

"Chau is a sixty-something years old trapped in a twenty-four years old body who prefers smelly old books over Kindle, calligraphy brushes over ballpoint pens and stacks of paper over the computer screen... These feels of nostalgia and romantic resonance are thus apparent throughout the designs" shared on her website.

New Zealand based artist Hazel Zakariya creates stunning art using food. She uses her nutrient packed smoothie bowls to "paint" breath-takingly beautiful artwork. The common ingredients that are used to make the vegan smoothie bowls are cream, milk, fruits, and berries for base and, flowers, spirulina, almond milk, spices, herbs and vegetable powders to create design. She uses only a table knife and skewers as her tools to achieve the realistic end result. Each bowl can take anywhere from one to five hours depending on the complexity of the design.

Her work has been published on websites including Vogue, Martha Stewart, ABC News, Shape, My Modern Met, Daily Hub, News Mail, Metro, Well and Good, Elle, Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, and Flow to name a few. She has amassed over 36,000 followers on Instagram where you can join her on her creative journey.
