A Graphic Designer and an Illustrator: Reg Cartwright


  







Reg Cartwright was born in Leicester in 1938 and worked as a graphic designer for art studios and advertising agencies before he started his career as a full-time painter and illustrator in 1974. His paintings primarily depicts familiar everyday objects in basic shapes focusing on color, tone and physical qualities of his subject matter.

His paintings have been exhibited all around the world. He is well-known for illustrating 40 books for young readers. He has received several awards for his work, including the MSIA for illustration and graphics.

Whimsical Ceramics by Arhoj Studio
















Arhoj is an independent design and production studio founded by Anders Arhoj in 2013. After studying interiors and design in Tokyo, he returned to Denmark and began working from his apartment doing graphic work, kids illustration and ceramics. 

Over the years the Arhoj has become an international brand known for hand-thrown whimsical ceramics. The pieces are inspired by Scandinavian simplicity and traditional Japanese culture. Their website has a huge variety of mugs, cups, vases, vessels, bowls, planters, jars, candle holders and much more in playful designs and colors. Arhoj ceramics are available in over 200 stores around the world.

Hand-Stitched Three Dimensional Sculptures by Anne Lemanski












Anne Lemanski creates amazing three dimensional animal sculptures from vintage paper, vinyl, textiles, wood veneer and copper rod. She bends and brazes the metal wires and rods to form a frame and then covers the frame with hand-stitched materials. Through her work she is exploring symbiotic relationship between humans and animals.

"I want to evoke something powerful and touching, without being sentimental. One of my focuses has been the complex, symbiotic relationship between humans and animals, highlighting our admiration for animals as symbols, and our exploitation of them to suit our needs" via.

She studied at Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy in 1990 and earned Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from College for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI in 1992. She has received North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship and in 2009 nominated for Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation grant. Her work is in several private collections including Asheville Art Museum, Asheville, NC, North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh, NC , U.S. Department of State, Art in Embassies Collection, Karachi, Pakistan and more. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines and featured on blogs. She lives in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, and building a studio from recycled shipping containers.

Watercolor and Gouache Wildlife Inspired Paintings by Tim Hayward












Tim Hayward is a world renowned artist living in South West England. He specializes in painting wildlife both animals and birds, rendering the texture of fur and feathers using gouache and watercolor. He has been fascinated by natural history ever since he was little. After studying graphic design and illustration at art college, he worked as a freelance wildlife illustrator for several years. When he is working on a piece Tim studies sketchbook, drawings made from skins and taxidermy props, and his own collection of photographs.
