Canadian Artist Brooke Cormier Paints on Wooden Slabs

Brooke Cormier is a 25-year-old self-taught painter based in Canada. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. Soon after graduating she started to paint full-time with Tim Packer, a well-known Canadian landscape artist. She beautifully captures natural scenes, wildlife and birds in her oil paintings. The artist paintings vary in sizes from 3" up to 20" inches canvas. I find her paintings on wooden slab especially beautiful.

"I think the essence of nature can be expressed through art by the way it is captured in the artist’s chosen medium. I am a painter and although up until now I’ve worked mostly in realism, honoring nature the way I see it, I’ve begun to experiment a bit in impressionism where there is so much opportunity to express movement through brush strokes, ambiance through color and drama through value. Nature has so many unique ways of being represented based on how the artist reproduces their experience of it." via

Brooke has won several awards, and has participated in number of art exhibitions and festivals. Her work has made to private collections internationally. Her work is rapidly increasing her audience with over 171k followers on Instagram alone.

Stephan Brusche Turns Bananas Into Amazing Artwork

Stephan Brusche is an artist who lives with his wife and a dog in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Most of us when we pick up a banana for breakfast, we don't see it more than a source of nourishment. But Stephan finds them as a perfect canvas to create art. He turns them into unique and creative artwork.

He draws on banana with a ballpoint pen and then carefully cuts away the tiny pieces on the peel to reveal the final art. This gives his work more of a 3D feel. He uses toothpick to hold the peels in place and sometimes uses paint.

His clients include Warner Music, TNT Express, Chiquita, One Banana , Fyffes, and more. His work has been published on Bored Panda, Mashable, Martha Stewart, Time Magazine, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, and USA Today to name a few. He has been nominated for a Shorty Award in the category of Instagrammer of the year. You can join his Instagram account - iSteef to get updates on his new work.
