Quirky Illustrations by Cynthia Cliff

Cynthia Cliff is an artist and an illustrator currently living in Washington DC with her husband in an historic warehouse in old-town Alexandria, Virginia.

Ever since she was a teenager she experimented in various art fields including pottery, painting, collage, embroidery and paper making. She is now focused on children's book illustrations, editorial illustrations, food and cooking art. Her work is inspired by the folk art and vintage things she grew up surrounded with in the historic village in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Also, one can see her love for nature, travel, and nature in her work that's quirky in style. She likes to draw food, animals, scenes, and portraits that are rich in texture and beautiful patterns.

She has created illustrations for Honest History, The Washington Post, Hudson Valley Seed Company, Washington Lawyer, Psychology Today, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
