Fabric Bird Sculptures by Abigail Brown

Abigail Brown is a textile artist and an illustrator based in London. She crafts animal and bird sculptures from fabric with great care and love from her beautiful studio in Walthamstow, East London. The sculptures are created with twisting, folding and scrunching the fabric, building layers on layers to craft one-of-a-kind creatures. She painstakingly hand-cuts each tiny feather and sews them one-by-one on the bird shape formed with wire and thread, before adding the final hand-embroidered details. She has made over 100 species of birds till date.

Her work has been featured in number of publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Selvedge, Vogue and Elle Decoration. Her creations has been sold in well-renowned brand stores including Liberty -London, Takashimaya - New York, Paul Smith - London and Paris, and Bensimon - Paris. She has worked in collaboration with Anthropologie, The Land of Nod, and Mamas & Papas.
