Artist Teresa Currea Sparks Life Into Found Objects With Paper-Cut Artwork

Teresa Currea is a talented paper cut artist from Bogotá, Colombia. She graduated with a degree in Visual Arts program from the National University of Colombia.

She creates 2D artwork with carefully hand-cut papers that are then drawn on with pencils, inks, and watercolors. These collages are housed in bulbs, on a wooden base, inside an old tv, and other found objects transforming 2D to three dimensional sculpture. Her work features human figures surrounded by natural elements such as plants, coral, flowers, trees, birds and animals, revolving around the theme of coexistence of humans and nature.

She has shown her art in solo and group shows, and has participated in art fairs in the country and abroad. She is a member of Paper Artist Collective.
