Leaf Carving by Omid Asadi

Omid Asadi originally from Iran now lives in UK. He loves to carve intricate illustrations on leaves. As a child he would draw with a needle on leaves or petals. He remembered how much he enjoyed turning leaves into artwork when he and his wife visited an exhibition which was about paper cutting. He started to carve again on leaves that had fallen around his house. He uses craft a knife, a scalpel and a needle to make human portraits, animals, and scenes.

"Leaves represent our short life, but through my work you can see the life they left behind."
