Glass Masks and Other Objects That You Can Wear

Let's start this new month with the jaw-dropping work of Kit Paulson. She has an experience of over 14 years working with glass in its hot, liquid state and makes these unbelievable sculptures that are detailed and intricate in their form. She tests the limit of the material by sculpting it into wearable masks, armor, skull, gloves and objects inspired by nature.

She gained BFA with a specialization in glass from Alfred University in 2004 and has been working with glass ever since. For her work she has been awarded scholarships from Pilchuck Glass School, Corning Museum of Glass, Pittsburgh Glass Center, The Windgate Foundation, Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass and the Glass Art Society. Her work got published in New Glass Review editions 36, 37 and 38. Just last month she started her three year residency at Penland School of Craft.

Happy halloween! I hope you all enjoyed your visit to the blog the last week and found the featured posts inspiring and creative!

Before you step into your costumes for the big night we all have been waiting for, let me introduce you all to the amazing work by Dena Seiferling an illustrator and an artist based out of Calgary. She makes amazing needle felted sculptures that will leave you wanting more. This year she participated in the challenge on Instagram to create a spooky cute sculpture or a drawing each day for the whole month. I hand picked the above shown needle felted sculptures she made for the challenge. I think they are appropriate to share today to celebrate halloween.

What are you going to be this year?

Have a safe halloween!
