Close up

Nebraska based artist Michelle Liebgott-Osinga creates amazing sculptures of owls and other animals that look close to real. She needle felts the sculptures using natural materials such as wool and hand-paints the claws of her birds with resin. I featured her sculptures on the blog a while ago, you can learn more about her and her work here.

If you have a favorite animal or a bird that you would like her to make for you then you can contact her for a custom piece, she would be glad to work with you. To view more of her work visit her online store Plains Song Studio.

Wood Carvings Ready to Hang as Wall Art by Nora Leschinski

Nora Leschinski is the designer behind all the lovely artwork at Leschiwelt. Her work is so much fun to look at that I can stare at them for hours! She uses wood pieces to hand carve owls, birds, fruits and sceneries. Each piece is hand-painted and sanded by the artist herself making each one one-of-a-kind. She loves to play with the natural cracks and coloring of the wood, and integrates them into her designs. The "faults" of the wood lends significant characteristics to the subject in her work.

The wood carvings will look beautiful together as a group and transform a corner of your house into an art gallery. You can view more of her work in her online store.

Mid Century Inspired Illustrations by Tracy Walker

I came across Tracy Walker's work that immediately filled me with joy. Canadian illustrator, designer and artist has worked with clients like Ikea, Land of Nod, Trader Joes, Kimberly-Clark, Target, Papyrus, AARP, Welch's, Microsoft, Visa, Earthday Canada, and Yoga Journal. She creates illustrations that are a perfect blend of vibrant colors and geometric shapes. There is a beautiful Mid Century vibe to her style, lovely texture and patterns in her work.

Tracy was featured by Gestalten Publishing in Illustrators Unlimited: The Essence of Contemporary Illustration. In February 2018, she designed fragrance packaging for Prada to celebrate 2018 as the year of the dog.

You can find her limited edition prints that come numbered and signed by the artist in her online store.

Lovely Illustrations by Kass Reich

Kass Reich is an illustrator and an art educator who is living in Toronto, Canada. It's a funny story how she became a children's picture book illustrator. A few years ago when she was teaching preschoolers abroad, she wrote and illustrated a story for her students. Her mom liked her book so mush that she took it to a publisher and in a couple of weeks Kass was contacted by them to publish her book. I mean who could recognize talent better than a mom. Right? Ever since then she has been working on childrens' books.

Her gauche paintings are delightful and rich in texture. She uses soft color palette for her art and repeat patterns that blend into each other smoothly. She has worked on several series - Canadian Wildlife, Jungle Animals, Florals and Finches and Year of the Dog that'll be perfect to decorate any child's room. You can find her prints that are available for purchase individually and as a set in her online store.
