Happy Holidays! + Folk Inspired Woodland Illustrations

Hi everyone! This will be my last post before the year ends. But before I let you go I want to thank you all for visiting the blog and taking the time to leave your encouraging comments. Thank you! I feel fortunate for many things but most of all for all of you who make my each day whole with your love and support.

I would like to dedicate the last post for 2017 to these beautiful illustrations by Dinara Mirtalipova from her Etch Art book - Hidden Forest. You remember etch art? It's the fun activity that we all involved ourselves into where we would etch off the surface of the book to reveal an illustration hidden beneath.

The book consists of 9 folk-art inspired artwork that slowly appears as you etch away with your stylus. It's a mind calming activity which lets to get lost in a wonderland inhabited with birds, bees, butterflies, deer, rabbits and owls. To view more images from the book go here and for more of her stunning artwork you can visit her online store.

I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. I'll see you next year with more fun and fresh owl finds. Till then take care and have a great time with your family :)

XMAS Advent Calendar Illustrations 2017 by Life as Illustrated

Emma is an artist and an illustrator behind Life as Illustrated who has taken upon herself to design a wintery illustration a day till the 25th. I absolutely love the texture in her work which looks like snow,  giving her work a festive feel. The color scheme of muted colors with the splash of bright ones is perfect for the advent calendar. She very cleverly incorporated the calendar dates with the geometric shaped animals in each image. You can follow her on Tumblr to view the artwork for the rest of the days.

XMAS Advent Calendar Illustrations 2017 by Stephanie Thannhauser

It's quite a challenge to come up with an artwork everyday based on a specific theme for a complete month (in this case 25 days). Illustrator and pattern designer Stephanie Thannhauser illustrated one charming character a day for the holiday advent calendar 2017. Here're few of the designs, you can visit her blog to view all the illustrations till Christmas.
