Easy Craft to Turn Old Cassettes Into Funny Faces

This is a wonderful craft for kids where old cassettes are given a new life as these owl and other character faces. Why not take out the cassettes that are probably sitting in your office drawers collecting just and let kids create something fun. To make this craft you will need some paper, pom poms, paper, yarn, and googly eyes to dress them up. You can get inspired from the tutorial shared here and make your own silly faces.

Dr. Propolus Treats Fashion Magazines into Fun Collages

Ilias Walchshofer who is also popularly known as Dr. Propolus is an Austrian-Moroccan illustrator who creates unique collages. He finds photographs of models from fashion magazines as his canvas and dresses them up by drawing cool doodles, or gives them an owl companion or monkeys to hang out with.

He shares with the magazine called The Commission how he uses "his pen to toy with our era's endless stream of fashion photography. A nude gets a nun's habit, a nonchalant femme fatale poses next to a  sleepy goat. A lonely model with pouty lips won't stay lonely in Ilias' world: in his kindness he adds two poodles to cheer her up."

Russian artist Julia Gorina creates magical birds with fabric, beads and lace. I admire her work and have featured it on the blog earlier. She started to design textile things in 2007 and now has become popular for her handmade brooches in her country as well as other parts of the world. She uses these hand embroidered birds to make brooches, hair clips, earrings and other accessories. You can see more of her work on Instagram.

Life-like Needle Felted Sculptures by Olga Lai

Olga Lai is an artist from Russia who creates these unique life-like animals and fantasy creatures. I first saw her work on Deviant Art where she has a gallery filled with the amazing sculptures. Her work is full of fine details and an amazing result of labor of love. For a second I thought the owl was real. To construct the sculptures she starts felting on wire using Russian and Italian merino wool and for features like eyes she uses clear glass cabochons. She can be contacted if you have something in mind that you would like her to custom create for you. You can visit her online store where some of her sculptures are available for purchase.
