Knitted Bird Sculptures by Alice Wolfe

"Well Knit by Moonlight"

Close up of a knitted owl from 'Well Knit by Moonlight" workshop.

Alice Wolfe is a textile artist from Worcestershire, United Kingdom with a graduate degree in BA (hons) Textile Design from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, with specialization in Constructed Textiles. She hand crafts these stunning three dimensional bird sculptures using yarn in vibrant colors.

The above shown piece titled "Well Knit by Moonlight" depicts a woodland night scene featuring a knitted owl, tree, mushrooms and all sorts of other creatures in conjunction with The Guild of Machine Knitters.

The Samazama Birds (below), is a collection of  birds she made in collaboration with her father, Kenneth Potts ARBS, who is a sculptor.

“I love what I do! Personally, I explore art in its widest aspects and draw inspiration from many interests, my outlook on the world and upbringing. I feel stimulated and respond to tactile textiles, colour and pattern."
