Easter Owl Cookies

Yesterday while browsing through so many amazing Easter related crafts and recipes shared by my fellow bloggers, I stumbled across this wonderful tutorial "Owl Egg Egg Owl" by Lucy Samuels who is a cookie designer and decorator. How adorable are these little guys! What I love the most about them is their cute egg shape and the use of soft colors with a hint of gold. Those tiny feet are killing me! Koultoura Coffee Branding by FullFill

Koultoura is a pioneer stand-alone coffee shops in West Jakarta that partnered with the creative company Fullfill for branding of their product with the focus of capturing the cool crowd with one thing in common - their love for good coffee.

To appeal to the masses the quirky characters were designed for the brand, with each character representing the different personalities that go or might go to Koultoura. "We also have the imagination that these "inner animals" - the bear, owl, fox, and rabbit actually live within you, and as we see it, a cup of coffee brings them to life (pictured in the mural)." Which is your animal? Mine is of course the owl!

I think Fullfill has done a great job of capturing the attention of a wide audience who love a good cup o' joe and, fun and cool branding. Koultoura has a facebook page where they recently posted about their all time favorite animal cookies and more exciting updates like this one, here

"Pencil Vs Camera" by Ben Heine

"Pencil Vs Camera" is a series of images created with a mixture of pencil drawings and photography by Ben Heine a Belgian multidisciplinary artist. The series started in 2010 with subject matter including animals, people, portraits and architecture hand-drawn in black and white on a white background.

The main theme approached in the series "Pencil Vs Camera" are love, freedom, after life, friendship and nature. Ben says: "I just make art for people. I want them to dream and forget their daily troubles. I used to write poems many years ago, I want to convey a poetic and philosophical meaning into my pictures, each new creation should tell a story and generate an intense emotion, like a poem, like a melody".

His work has evolved over the past few years, the optical illusions in his pieces such as shown above where he appears himself in the images sometimes being held at gunpoint by his own drawing and other walking a tiger on a leash with a barn owl flying over is simply mind blowing. Out of his desire to be able to pose with his work he started to draw large sketches that mostly measure 13ft x 10ft and can take up to a week to complete. If you would like to know more bout his new work then you can join him on Facebook.
