Surreal Wildlife Paintings by Tiffany Bozic

Tiffany Bozic is a self-taught artist whose "work has the traditional air of tightly rendered nature illustrations but with a highly emotional range of surreal metaphorical themes." Her work is reminiscent of botanical prints inspired by her "extensive travels to wild places” and exposure to various research specimens at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. She often works with multiple layers of watered down acrylic paint on maple wood panels which further helps to show the beautiful details of her paintings. You can see her work in person if you live San Francisco area where she'll have a solo show this October at FFDG.

I hope you enjoy her work as much as I did. I wish you all a wonderful weekend. See you back on Monday!

Jewelry by Carolyn Morris Bach

I am so glad to have discovered these incredible jewelry pieces by Carolyn Morris. She is an artist who lives on seventy acres in the woodlands of Southern Rhode Island surrounded by pastures and forests which clearly have influenced her work.

She brings the spirits of the ancient soul into wearable jewelry. She only uses natural materials like silver, copper, stone, ivory and wood into making talismans and sets them into bundle of gold wire.

Each piece is handcrafted by her often has a human face or a figure, accompanied by symbolic creatures of the woodland like owls, rabbits, deer and foxes. Her work is in numerous museum collections including - Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts Museum of Arts and Design, New York, New York, and collected in both USA and abroad.

Harry Potter Themed Party

I love the Harry Potter theme for the parties and I was thrilled to come across this beautiful party styled by Kara Party Ideas for Parenting Magazine that included owls in everything from cupcakes to masks to balloons.

Apart from the owls, the party had lots of other wonderful ideas like Harry Potter inspired old steamer trunk, vintage suitcases, a British inspired telephone booth shelf and a book themed end table.

The owl faced balloon, acting as the party invitation "delivery owl" from Harry Potter is especially a cool idea.  It's a fun and easy to make!

The owl glasses are my favorite! You can make these for yourself with only a few simple things and a pair of frame which you can find at a dollar store. The instructions to make these glasses can be found here.

The beautiful feathery cake and sweet looking vanilla cupcakes must have been a great hit among children and adults alike.
