The Owl and The Pussycat Wedding Inspiration

Ruffled featured this adorable wedding inspired from Edward Lear’s “The Owl and the Pussycat" classic poem about an owl and a cat who fall in love.

Amanda Johnson designed the wedding and shares: "This styled shoot was inspired by a vintage copy of the Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear (1871). The poem has an unlikely pairing: an owl and a cat. The owl serenades the cat, and she’s so entranced that they decide to run away and be married at once. What about a ring? Well, they borrow one from a friendly pig and are married by a turkey. Sure it’s a little “out there” but the core of the poem is about two souls finding each other even if they aren’t the perfect match."

I love the color palette of tangerine, aqua and fuchsia that brings fresh and fun vibe to the wedding that pops even more against the Phoenix desert. Everything about this wedding warmed my heart - from the simplicity to the meaning that went behind all the lovely details. I am swooning over those 60s vintage owl and cat vases. Is there something that caught your attention?

All the colors were so beautiful. I love the owl on the bouquet. I also like your description of Edward Lear's poem. So romantic.

I just discovered that my styled shoot was featured here and I am so thrilled! I love your blog and visit every few months to find my favorite owl related products. So cool to see myself featured. Almost cooler than being featured on the Ruffled Blog! Thank you so much!
