Freebie by Johanna Parker

After Martha Stewart's owl and cat masks I have another owl and cat freebie for you. Isn't it fun?

Johanna Parker, whose pieces I blogged previously here, has been featured in several magazines including  Phyllis Hoffman's Celebrate Halloween Magazine which featured her latest spooktacular Halloween creations. The magazine also has 2 of Johanna's illustrated Halloween characters - owl and cat that are suitable to be used as cupcake picks for Fall and Halloween themed parties. Click here to begin the download.

Kenneth Townsend: Menagerie Tiles

Kenneth-Townsend-tile1 Kenneth-Townsend-tile2

Adorable animal tiles by Kenneth Townsend from Menagerie Series. Isn't this the cutest owl, or whale, or moose you have ever seen? I would love to collect them all!

These vintage tiles seem to be popular among collectors and hard to be found for purchase. I did a quick search and managed to find only a couple of tiles on eBay. Do you own a piece of Kenneth's work?

Freebie: Martha Stewart Halloween Owl and Cat Masks

Images removed on request of Adam McCauley the copyright holder.

"Masked Pumpkins" is an excellent pumpkin decorating idea featured in Martha Stewart Halloween Oct 2009 issue, found by me yesterday at this blog. The night owl and black cat masks' templates can be downloaded for free here! Simply download the masks, cut out and tie them to the carved pumpkins. To use them as hand-held masks just glue a craft stick to the bottom of the print out.

West Elm: Plates

West Elm's new porcelain "field study rimmed dessert plates" from their fall collection are inspired by vintage 1950s wallpaper and are available in two lovely designs - patchwork patterns of owls and botanical tiny flowers that extend right to the rim of the plates. A set of 4 plates will mix and match perfectly with the whites dishes that you already have.

World Market: Halloween Goodies

My favorite is the nutcracker, the expression on the owl's face is priceless! Do you have a favorite?

{1. owl on pumpkin table decor, 2. halloween tumblers, 3. nutcrackers, 4. owl luminary, 5. halloween plates, 6.  boo whoo-print beverage napkins.}

Marie Christophe

Marie Christophe is a French artist who makes whimsical and gorgeous sculptural lamps and chandeliers with curved wire and colorful beads. She has been commissioned by Hermès, Dior, Cartier and Bergdorf Goodman

Her 3D sculptures have a very fluid look to them, they are "as light as air and as transparent as bubbles in a glass of champagne...with simple and sublime design she turns wire, beads and baubles into illuminating poetry". I would love have an owl (or pelican?) lamp from her menagerie of animal lamps. More of her work can be found at Lisa Fontanarosa.
