Hornsea Owls by John Clappison

I saw this great post on these beautiful Owl salt and pepper shakers and couldn't resist sharing them here. These retro styled owls cruets are pots that were made in 1966 by Hornsea Pottery and were designed by John Clappison.

If you are a collector or an admirer of vintage pottery from 50s through 70s then you must visit this blog - Potshots where you'll find many delightful and charming pieces that have been collected over the years like these owls that recently became a part of the collection.

Thank you for showing the owl cruet set on the Owlbarn. John Clappison was a prolific designer during the 1960s and 1970s and he featured owls in his work several times. I have some of John's screen printed owl mugs. They look really retro and are full of humour. I'll let you know when they come up on Potshots. Keep up the good work and keep those fabulous owls coming.
