The Quiet Book: Deborah Underwood

The Quiet Book is a cute children's book written by Deborah Underwood and illustrated by Renata Liwska. Every one of these pages tell a simple yet engaging story with Renata's charming illustrations and introduces to a very special world. A world of quiet. By the end of the book the readers will appreciate the different flavors of quiet -  "Coloring in the lines quiet." "First snow quiet." "Car ride at night quiet." "Try not to hiccup quiet" "Right before you yell SURPRISE quiet." "First look at your new hairstyle quiet."

The adorable animals - owls, bears, moose, porcupines, birds, iguanas and rabbits are drawn in soft color palette, making them perfect little creatures of this quiet book. To draw those cute animals, Renata says: “I do and I don’t use reference. I do look at pictures and videos of animals. I look at how they are constructed. What sorts of noses and paws they have or what are their proportions and such. But I try to interpret the reference in my own way and create an impression of the characters.” All in all it's a sweet bed-time book that is articulated text quiet and delightful illustrations quiet. So, get it now! Available here.

I love. this. book! Bought it for a couple of toddlers over the holidays and checked it out from the library for my daughter. Not only are the illustrations beautiful, but it's a great message for over-enthusiastic (Why? Why? Why?)toddlers/preschoolers.
