Amy Sol

When I saw Amy Sol's work this morning my jaw dropped to the floor and my eyes popped wide open. Amy was born in Korea and currently living in Las  Vegas. Her paintings in muted and subtle color palettes are inspired by manga, folk-art and vintage illustration with modern edge. She has an upcoming solo exhibition at Corey Helford Gallery, Culver City, CA. Stop by to get a glimpse in her magical world. How I wish I could attend!

Holiday Matinee + Jocelyn Duke

Holiday Matinee and Jocelyn Duke  collaborated on this fun greeting card. They believe that cards should be sent at any time of the year to your loved ones; that'll "totally make their day." They have kept the inside of the card blank for a handwritten note to personalize the card. This unique looking owl is named "Hank Jr" and is from the fifth painting in Jocelyn’s “Friends” series. I am really loving this little guy and that couple seems really happy to adopt Mr. Jr. You can too, here!

Owl Love You: Embroidery Pattern

Today's freebie is for all owl fans who love to stitch. I found this owl embroidery by Shemp3 who stitched this for her sister-in-law. She used the vintage pattern at Mrs. Stitchy Britches website. To download the full size pattern for yourself hop on over to Stitchy Britches.

So today I'll share these vintage inspired, paper-mache owl candy bowls by Blackbird Folk Art. Each piece is hand sculpted from layers of recycled paper and then hand painted which makes these bowls perfect place to store your candy this holiday season.
