Owls In My Inbox

I received an email this morning with these lovely designs by Beth Gunnell, an illustrator and freelance designer. Some of her designs were recently featured in Print and Pattern book. Presently, she is working on prints which will soon be available on her Etsy store. Visit Beth's blog to know more about her work.

{DIY Owl Army}

I came across a well written tutorial with easy to follow instructions on making your own owl pennant and owl stuffies by Alex, and I had to share it with you all very talented people. You can make one or the whole army!! When I was reading the tutorial, it reminded of some of the emails from you asking for ideas on owl themed birthday parties and bridal showers. I think these little guys just made the list. Just play around with the fabric, use polka dots, stripes for a kid's party and mix of vintage fabric for a bridal shower. Any more ideas?

Tutorial here and here.

{Bandit or Geek}

Which one do you like better? The bandit brooch or the geek-y looking owl brooch.

Tea Pony

Tea Pony is an Australian kids label and shop which offers adorable range of little girls clothing and toys. Esa, the owner and the designer, sketches her own designs and hand finish them with love. The above shown " The Coco and The Owl" top caught my eye immediately because of its simple yet cute design. Esa is currently working on the new coco and owl sketch and I can't wait for her to finish, take a peak on her blog.

"I Love Owls"

It's a must-have owl t-shirt for all the owl lovers!

The designer, Kate Garey says "Who doesn't love Owls? They dont even bother me when they hoot hoot outside my bedroom in the dead of the night." Can we meet for coffee, please?

{Thanks Mac}

{Hoop Embroideries}

I'm delighted to discover these hoop embroideries by Jenny Mccabe. Each piece is meticulously crafted with layers of hand-dyed and vintage fabric, padded to achieve a 3D feel before framed in a hoop. She is currently working on British garden birds; visit her blog to get a sneak peak on her work.

Cupcake Craving

I'm craving for a cupcake! To be specific, a lemon cupcake with chocolate frosting. I'd this flavor for the first time at my friend's wedding last year and suddenly, I'm craving for one. Is it weird to have nostalgic cravings?

Really Really Retro

Barbara Johansen Newman's really, really retro patterns from the her newest collections - Really Really Happy Housewives and Kitschy Kitchen. Just like her designs, aren't these names really, really fun?

Square Plate

I'm not a big fan of square shaped plates, but I like this one by Kate, for it's minimal design and lots of colors.
